SUBJECT: Installation of Auxiliary Fuel Valve Warning Placard
MODELS AND SERIAL NUMBERS EFFECTED:
Model 11AC – all
Model 11BC – all
Model 11CC – 11CC-1 to 11CC-223 inclusive
Model 11AC-S – only if 7-530 rear fuselage auxiliary fuel system is installed therein.
Model 7AC – only if 7-565 rear fuselage auxiliary fuel system is installed therein.
Model 7BCM – only if 7-565 rear fuselage auxiliary fuel system is installed therein.
Model 7CCM – only if 7-565 rear fuselage auxiliary fuel system is installed therein.
Model 7DC – only if 7-565 rear fuselage auxiliary fuel system is installed therein.
PURPOSE: To promote proper use of auxiliary fuel system in interest of additional safety, particularly to
student pilots.
DATE TO BE ACCOMPLISHED: No deadline – but prompt compliance recommended. CAA has
announced their intention to issue an Airworthiness Directive Note on this subject.
MATERIAL REQUIRED: One 1-3416 Auxiliary Fuel Valve Warning Placard.

GENERAL:
A. What It Is:
The 1-3416 placard reads as follows: “VALVE MUST BE CLOSED EXCEPT IN LEVEL FLIGHT,
ENGINE WILL NOT OPERATE FROM AUX. TANK, THEREFORE IF AUX, FUEL IS TO BE
USED, MAIN TANK MUST BE AT LEAST 1/2 FULL WHEN DRAINING IS STARTED TO
INSURE CONTINUOUS ENGINE OPERATION”.
B. Why Necessary:
CAA has stated that it is considered advisable to install this placard in the interests of safety. If the
placard instructions are not followed the following may happen:
