The new Micro Vortex Generator kit for the Baron 55 is a dramatic improvement over the original Baron 55 V/G System. If your Baron is already equipped with the V/G System, you can now upgrade with the new Micro Vortex Generator Upgrade Kit. If you do not have vortex generators on your Baron, you can purchase a complete Micro VG kit using part number VG5018 or VG5019.
NEW RUDDER LAYOUT
The rudder layout has been completely redesigned, with Micro Vortex Generators mounted on both sides of the rudder rather than on only one side of the vertical stabilizer. This improves rudder authority at high deflection angles, such as in Vmc situations. When you install the Micro VG Upgrade Kit, the old vortex generators are removed from the vertical stabilizer, and the new Micro Vortex Generators are mounted on both sides of the rudder.
NACELLE STRAKES
Strakes are mounted outboard of each engine nacelle to reduce flow separation during slow flight. This improves low speed controllability and stall characteristics.
